Importance of Learning the Fretboard

Easy guitar tabs are great for the beginner. As I mentioned before esdy is such a relative term. The more you do something the easier it gets. Play the C chord over and over it becomes easy. Making the change from the C chord to the D chord is always difficult at first bu with practice it becomes easier. Maybe I'm telling you more than you care to know or stating the obvious but repetition is one of the best teachers. Tabs get easier the more you play them. Remember you have muscle memory working for you. I go throught this every time I learn a new song. When there are a lot of chord changes you need to depend on the muscle memory to make your guitar playing easier. Songs that require you to change chords every one or two beats are a good example of that I'm talking about. I can form the chords C-D-Bm-C7-G7-Am no problem. Play them quickly counting them just one beat, well there's  a problem. My brain knows where the fingers go but the fingers can't get there quick enough. It gets worse when I try to speed things up. My muscles seem to get tight and are not very relaxed. I tire and stop playing. I have since learned to play the chords slowly, one at a time but still using just one stroke for each chord. My fingers slowly learn where to go next.   It's like my fingers are dancing independently and I'm sort of an observer. My ears help out only in that they anticipate the next chord sound and react by saying "Wrong! Start again!" The fingers start again this time a little slower. Try this trick. Play slowly and accurately. I know you've heard it before but it does work , especially if you ar learning easy guitar.
